  19.      DESCRIPTION
  20.           Reads a portable pixmap as input.  Produces a PCL file
  21.           suitable for printing on an HP PaintJet XL printer as
  22.           output.

  24.           The generated file is not suitable for printing on a normal
  25.           PrintJet printer.  The -nopack option generates a file which
  26.           does not use the normal TIFF 4.0 compression method. This
  27.           file might be printable on a normal PaintJet printer (not an
  28.           XL).

  30.           The -gamma option sets the gamma correction for the image.
  31.           The useful range for the PaintJet XL is approximately 0.6 to
  32.           1.5.

  34.           The rendering algorithm used for images can be altered with
  35.           the -dither, -cluster, and -diffuse options. These options
  36.           select ordered dithering, clustered ordered dithering, or
  37.           error diffusion respectively.  The -dark option can be used
  38.           to enhance images with a dark background when they are
  39.           reduced in size.  The -presentation option turns on
  40.           presentation mode, in which two passes are made over the
  41.           paper to increase ink density. This should be used only for
  42.           images where quality is critical.

  45.           The image can be resized by setting the -xsize and -ysize
  46.           options. The parameter to either of these options is
  47.           interpreted as the number of dots to set the width or height
  48.           to, but an optional dimension of `pt' (points), `dp'
  49.           (decipoints), `in' (inches), or `cm' (centimetres) may be
  50.           appended.  If only one dimension is specified, the other
  51.           will be scaled appropriately.

  53.           The options -width and -height are synonyms of -xsize and
  54.           -ysize.

  56.           The -xscale and -yscale options can alternatively be used to
  57.           scale the image by a simple factor.

  74.           The image can be shifted on the page by using the -xshift
  75.           and -yshift options. These move the image the specified
  76.           dimensions right and down.
